Coral reef-related fisheries are socially and economically important in Bangladesh.


Bangladesh sits at the foot of the Himalayan mountains. The rich minerals from roll off mount Everest and pass through the largest mangrove forest in the world, the Sundarbans. As a result, the adjacent bay of Bengal hosts an amazing variety of marine life. Through building Sea Cave Reefs, Fish Reef Project seeks to enhance the ocean health, food and job security of countless hard working Bangladeshis

Conducting outreach among the throngs of colorful Sanpan fishing vessels. The first reef will be located in the Cox Bazzar area where miles of sandy seabed can be converted from sparse low value fish to high value coral reefs with grouper, snapper and lobster.
